My name is Cody Phillips, and I am currently an English and Film and Media Studies Instructor, having enjoyed teaching at Redwood Academy since 2018. I grew up in Ukiah, and am a Redwood Academy alumnus of the class of ‘09. I went on to study Film and Media at UC Irvine, where I received my B.A. in 2013.
   Both my high school and college experiences had unequivocal influence on me, and they were the perfect fit for my perpetual need to learn. I continued filling this need by attending graduate coursework at Humboldt State University's School of Education to receive my credential, and am currently work toward clearing it via professional development through Sonoma County Office of Education.
   In my other postgraduate adventures, I’ve managed movie theatre businesses; made lattes as a Starbucks barista; freelanced as a video editor and motion graphics designer for corporate marketing videos across LA, Boston, and New York; acted in local stage performances at Mendocino College, Ukiah Players Theatre, and Cloverdale Performing Arts Center; and edited a feature-length health documentary.
